Yucatan's Food

This is the first State that I want to show you, including its gastronomy and place where you can find it, both as Mexico City as Quintana Roo's State which is the closest place to Yucatan.

¿What are the ingredients of a town? ¿Which is the flavor of a city? ¿Of a State? ¿Which is the flavor of Yucatan? We can say that Yucatan tastes like corn and tomato, turkey and pig, deer and onion, sweet potato and achiote, habanero chilli and, of course, tastes like honey, Yucatan have the flavor of the gastronomic mestizaje, where is combined ancient native food and the ancient European culinary tradition, it was old when they came to American, influenced by the Arabic and oriental customs.



With respect to its origins, even tough its continual frugality, the culture Maya was one of the american native cultures, best fed. They ate vegetables, wild birds and little mammals, seeds, honey and the Balché's liqueur.
